Brands We Work With – L’Atelier du Vin

L’Atelier du Vin, French for “the wine workshop,” has been creating unique wine tools with unconditional passion for nearly 100 years.  A family run business famed for their high-quality oenological accessories for both sommeliers and oenophiles alike, L’atelier needs little introduction.  With a focus on both the quality of the design and the choice of materials, the brand successfully blends ergonomics, sensitive touches and refined aesthetics, resulting in an offering that only serves to enhance the art of enjoying fine wine, the French way.

Since 1926, L'Atelier du Vin has been in the pursuit of oenological perfection, creating exclusive wine tools for the discerning. Famously known for iconic products such as the Bilame, their tin-blade cork puller, and the Oeno Motion with its distinctive good looks and completely fluid movement, L’Atelier du Vin makes a range of corkscrews and collectors sets, with the intention of enhancing the contemporary pleasurable ritual of wine conservation, preparation and service. Tools that over time, will no doubt become classic staples. All designed in-house in a studio based in Paris where the design team draw inspiration from the very best of old bottle openers.  Each year, the designers and engineers work together to not only create new tools, but also look to perfect previous models.  It’s that attention to detail that produces seriously impressive products that play a key role in creating the best possible wine drinking experience. and produced by the hand of their unrivalled craftsmen in specialist L’Atelier workshops in the north of France.

A storied history, originating in the world of wine in Champagne, where they still own vineyards and are involved in taking care of vineyards and grapes today. L’Atelier don’t have a Champagne brand, but they do sell their grapes to major Champagne names.  It’s this level of involvement that contributes to the knowledge and expertise of L’Atelier du Vin’s products and gives them the ‘cellar to the table’ ethos that underpins the very way they think about the ways you will use their tools.

Current chairman and CEO Georges Richard is third generation L’Atelier.  His family have cherished the rituals around wine through three generations. They know just how special it is to savor a fine wine in good company and they are passionate about sharing l’art de vivre le vin à la française – the art of enjoying fine wine, the French way – with wine lovers around the world. “L’Atelier du Vin is the hallmark of what brings my family together.” Says Georges.
